AGL energy plans explained

Australians living in the National Electricity Market have two AGL plans available to them, for both gas and electricity. AGL Essentials offers fixed rates that won’t change during the 12-month benefit period, while AGL Essentials Saver has variable rates that could change during the 12-month benefit period. In addition, both plans offer flexible billing and payment methods and gives customers the opportunity to collect additional AGL flybuys points for every $1 spent on AGL gas and electricity.

Residents in New South Wales have two electricity and gas plans available to them through AGL. AGL Essentials offers fixed gas and electricity rates for 12 months, while AGL Essentials Saver offers variable rates.

AGL retails two electricity and two gas plans to residents in Victoria., While AGL Essentials offers gas and electricity at a fixed rate for 12 months, AGL Essentials Saver is a simple plan with variable rates and a generous discount.

South Australians interested in gas and electricity with AGL have two plans available to them for each fuel type. AGL Essentials for gas and electricity offers low and fixed rates for 12 months, while AGL Essentials Saver has variable rates for gas and electricity while offering a generous discount.

AGL rates Western Australia

Unlike the states within the NEM, residents of Western Australia only have gas available to them through AGL. While both plans offer variable gas rates, customers who choose AGL Set & Forget and pay with direct debit get a slightly bigger discount than the AGL Savers gas plan. For customers who don’t want to set and forget with direct debit, however, AGL Savers still offers a generous discount.
