Simplest

Gas rates do not change between Red Energy plans within a network. Gas supply charges range from about 68c to $1.21 a day and usage from roughly 2.4c to 6.7c/MJ across NSW, ACT, VIC, QLD and SA.

Red Energy solar: feed-in tariffs & batteries

Red Energy offers a solar feed-in tariff for households with solar panels in New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland and South Australia (not the ACT). The standard NSW feed-in tariff is 6c/kWh, but the Red Solar Saver plan pays a higher 18c/kWh for the first 5kWh exported per day; the Queensland Red Solar Saver pays 16c/kWh for the first 5kWh, then 8c/kWh. Solar feed-in tariffs are decreasing across the country, but Red Energy still offers one of the higher standard rates in NSW and Queensland.

Sign up for Qantas Red Saver electricity and earn a one-off bonus of 10,000 Qantas Points credited to your Frequent Flyer account.

Gas sign-up bonus

Points on your bill

Earn 2 Qantas Points for every $1 spent on your gas and electricity bill, as long as you pay on time. Estimated total annual points range from about 18,834 in NSW to 20,830 in the ACT.

Free Qantas membership

A Qantas Frequent Flyer membership normally costs a one-off $99 joining fee, which is waived when you join through Red Energy. Call 131 806 to link your Red Energy and Qantas accounts.

Red Rewards (discontinued)

The Red Energy Rewards member program offered over 4,500 dining, travel, shopping and lifestyle deals across NSW and Victoria. Red Energy no longer offers this program to customers as of 2023; Qantas Red Saver is now the main reward.
