Selectra was first created in France in 2007, as a joint venture between Aurian de Maupeou and Xavier Pinon, as a way to inform and assist energy consumers in the wake of the deregulation of the French energy market. In 2012, Selectra opened in the French telecom and Spanish markets, and has continued to grow with operations now in 16 countries worldwide.

In 2019, 327,000 residents and businesses in France switched their energy, broadband, or mobile phone plans with Selectra. By switching with Selectra, they not only saved 8.3 million euros collectively, but also 113,000 tonnes of CO2 for the planet.
Since 2010 Selectra has grown to more than 1,300 employees around the world, including France, Spain, Italy, Japan, and more. In 2020, Selectra group sites had more than 100+ million visitors and more than 600,000 contracts signed

Xavier graduated from Sciences-Po Paris with a Masters in Finance and Corporate Strategy and from Columbia University with a masters in International Affairs, Management, and Public Policies in the energy sector. Xavier now manages the commercial aspects of Selectra and web content development. He is also the co-author of a book on the French retail energy market.
Aurian de Maupeou
A graduate of Sciences-Po Paris with a Masters in Masters in Finance and Corporate Strategy and from the University of St. Gallen with a Masters in International Affairs, Aurian de Maupeou also went on an academic exchange with the Japanese University of Waseda in Tokyo and Korea University in Seoul. Aurian knowledge of programming and SEO is self-taught. He is now in charge of SEO strategy, technical tools, and the development of new markets.
