Other Important Information

NSW, QLD, and SA:

Price includes GST and is the estimated lowest possible price an average represented customer would be charged in one year (12 months) for this plan, and includes all discounts and conditions (if any) under the assumption they have been met. The estimated cost is based on the AER’s estimated annual region (The Reference Price) as stated at the top of each table. If no region is stated, estimation is based on the capital city of each state (Sydney, NSW; Brisbane, QLD; Adelaide, SA respectively).

VIC:

Price includes GST and is the estimated lowest possible price an average represented customer would be charged in one year (12 months) for this plan, and includes all discounts and conditions (if any) under the assumption they have been met. The estimated cost is based on the Victorian Government’s annual estimated reference consumption (The Victorian Default Offer) as stated at the top of each table. If no region is stated, estimation is based on the capital city (Melbourne, ViC).

ACT:

Price includs GST and is the estimated lowest possible price an average represented customer would be charged in one year (12 months) for this plan, and includes all discounts and conditions (if any) under the assumption they have been met. Estimated cost is based on the Independent Competition and Regulatory Commission (ICRC) annual reference consumption for residential and domestic customers as stated at the top of each table. If no region is stated, estimation is based on the capital city (Canberra, ACT).

Some plans may have certain eligibility criteria you need to meet before you’re eligible for a discount. Always check an energy provider’s plan information for all conditions and details about discounts. Plan terms and conditions might vary.

The Reference Price:

The reference price is set by the Australian Energy Regulator for a financial year in relation to the electricity supply of an average residential home within a distribution area and is based on an estimated average annual usage amount. Any difference between the reference price (also known as the Default Market Offer) and the unconditional or market offer is shown as a percentage more or less than the reference price. Any conditional discounts and/or further differences between the reference price and conditional discounts will be expressed as a percentage more or less than the reference price.

The Victorian Default Offer (VDO):

The Victorian Default Offer (VDO) encompasses a daily supply charge and usage charge (per kwh). Tariff differences across distribution regions reflect the different costs of distributing electricity in each area. The difference between the VDO and the market offer of a plan is expressed as a percentage greater or less than the VDO, based on the Victorian Government's annual reference consumption for the average residential consumer in the distribution region. Any conditional discounts are displayed, as well as any additional difference between the VDO and the discount that will be applied if a condition is met, represented as a percentage higher or lower than the VDO.
