Solar panel

Engie Energy Solar Review

Engie Energy offers a number of green and renewable energy options for environmentally-minded Australians, including solar PV installations, solar battery storage, a solar hot water program, and a solar feed-in tariff.

Engie Energy does offer a solar feed-in tariff to customers with solar panels, though they don’t offer a premium solar feed-in tariff at this time. Engie Energy feed-in tariffs, like other energy providers’, have been reduced over the years as more and more Australians invest in solar energy and export renewable energy back to the grid.

While not an accredited solar installer like other energy providers such as AGL or Origin Energy, Engie Energy can help facilitate your transition to a more renewable source.

Below, you will find the Engie Energy feed-in tariff available in your state.

Engie Energy Solar Feed-in Tariff

Customers’ Engie Energy Reviews

Customers’ Engie Energy reviews are mixed across the web.

TrustPilot customers give Engie Energy 1.3 out of 5 stars, with 98% 1-star Engie Energy reviews currently published. On ProductReview, Engie Energy is rated 1.2 out of 5 stars, from over 1,300 total Engie Energy reviews.

The biggest complaint customers seem to have is inexplicably high energy bills and an inability for Engie Energy customer service to resolve any problems. Some customers say that this is due to sudden increases in supply and usage rates, while others say Engie Energy wrongly estimates their gas or electricity usage.

Paddy says in their 1-star Engie Energy review on ProductReview:

Trying to cancel my service, I was put on hold for 20mins. I was then told I was being transfered and was hung up on. I called back and was put through to another agent who went through the process of cancellation and was told to wait 3-4mins while he got me a reference number, 15mins later, still on hold, they hung up on me once again. After the third time calling (15mins) they tried to start the whole process again until I asked to speak to a supervisor, miraculously, my reference number was suddenly found and provided. I will never, as long as I breathe, ever use Engie energy again. Amatuer and calamitous.

Dan in Greater Melbourne, Victoria, says in their 1-star Engie Energy review:

This is the most inefficient company i have dealt with. Sent the paperwork for solar in August last year. Until now nothing has been done about it although i had to call multiple times to fix this. I had to explain this same issue every time i called them to inquire about it. No one knows what they are talking about or doing.

Engie Energy Review: The Verdict

In our Engie Energy review, it’s hard to say whether Engie Energy is any good as everyone’s experience with their energy provider is different, so it’s best to do your research and choose a home utility provider based on your own household’s circumstances as everyone’s experiences will differ.

When it comes to Engie Energy, there is something to be said for their diverse range of energy products including multiple plans with benefits and deals across a number of different states, as well as a network of accredited solar installers and feed-in tariff available.

However, even for an energy provider, customers seem generally dissatisfied in their Engie Energy reviews. These customers often cite issues with getting in contact with Engie Energy customer service including frustrating wait times while on hold or getting hung up on, or problems when they need help with their energy accounts for things such as disconnections and cancellations.

It’s hard to say whether Engie Energy is a good energy provider or not, as everyone’s experiences are different. When comparing and switching energy providers, it’s important to do your own research to find the best energy plan for you and comparison services like Selectra can help.
