Energy Locals is a small, Australian-owned energy provider offering wholesale electricity rates to customers in New South Wales, the ACT, Victoria, Queensland, and South Australia. Energy Locals Electricity Plans
Energy Locals has three plans available to customers in Australia and each plan comes with a monthly membership fee that varies depending on your plan, location, and estimated usage.
Online Member and Local Member are both sold in the National Electricity Market, while Local Saver is only available in Victoria but offers the same great benefits of the Local Member plan.

Energy Locals EV TariffEnergy Locals also has an EV tariff available for owners of Telsa electric vehicles. However, the Energy Locals Tesla EV plan is only available in South Australia.
Energy Locals Green Power
Apart from being 100% carbon neutral, all Energy Locals plans have the option of adding Green Power for an extra fee.
Energy Locals offers 3 different Green Power tiers:
- 10% Green Power costs 0.0039c/kWh
- 50% Green Power costs 0.0195c/kWh
- 100% Green Power costs 0.039c/kWh
By adding Green Power to your energy plan it commits Energy Locals to buying however much energy you use from renewable energy generators. This ensures the energy you use is green and also helps encourage energy companies to source energy from renewable sources.

Energy Locals sells electricity in the National Electricity Market which means offers may not be available for you, depending on your location.
One of the advantages of Energy Locals is that they offer wholesale electricity rates, meaning Energy Locals doesn’t make a profit off of the energy you use, only on their monthly membership fee. Energy Locals has two plans available to customers in New South Wales. Both Energy Locals plans have the same electricity rates, but if you prefer not to have to contact Energy Locals, you can choose to manage your energy account online paying by direct debit and can save even more with a lower monthly membership fee.

It’s important to note that if you’re choosing a wholesale electricity provider, your electricity rates will change frequently based on fluctuations in the wholesale electricity market.
By law, energy providers must offer consumers a price estimate and show the difference between their estimate and the market offer. However, with a wholesale electricity provider, prices are subject to change as the cost of wholesale electricity is constantly fluctuating based on suppñy and demand. Therefore, be aware that you could be charged way more or way less than their estimate.
