Catch Connect was one of Australia's cheapest prepaid mobile providers: a no-frills MVNO running on the Optus 4G network, built by online retailer Catch.com.au (part of the Wesfarmers group). It made its name with low-cost, long-expiry SIM-only plans, generous data inclusions and frequent online deals, all with no lock-in contract. On 1 May 2025 the brand rebranded to OnePass Mobile, still powered by Optus and still selling the same style of value prepaid plans. Here is everything you need to know about Catch Connect plans, network, contact and reviews.

Catch Connect is now OnePass Mobile. On 1 May 2025, following the closure of the Catch.com.au store, the brand rebranded to OnePass Mobile, still powered by the Optus network. It is the same style of value prepaid plans and the same customer care number. Existing customers kept their service and number. Coverage
Catch Connect is a prepaid MVNO that leases capacity on the Optus 4G network rather than running its own. That means coverage and speeds broadly mirror a prepaid Optus service, at lower prices, with the same reach across the country.

Running on the Optus 4G network, Catch Connect reaches roughly 97% of the Australian population. Coverage is strongest in metro and regional centres and thins out in remote areas.
4G
Catch Connect plans are 4G only and do not include 5G, as Optus reserves 5G for selected postpaid services. For most prepaid users, 4G speeds are more than enough for browsing, video and calls.
MVNO
Catch Connect was an Optus MVNO built by Catch.com.au. Since 1 May 2025 it has traded as OnePass Mobile, still on the Optus network, alongside other Optus resellers such as Coles and Woolworths Mobile.
Check before you sign up. Coverage varies by address, so always check the Optus coverage map for your exact location first. If you want Optus-network value, compare Catch Connect (now OnePass Mobile) against other resellers in our mobile providers guide.
The plans
Catch Connect kept its range deliberately simple: a handful of prepaid SIM-only plans, all with no lock-in contract, unlimited standard national calls and texts, and a choice of short or long expiry periods. The standout was its cheap long-expiry plans, and the same style of value plans lives on today under OnePass Mobile.

Good to know. All Catch Connect plans are prepaid with no lock-in, so you can switch plans or providers any time. On a long-expiry plan, your data allowance has to last the full period, so a heavy month can leave you topping up with a data add-on. Prices and inclusions change with current deals, so always check the provider's live plan pages before you buy.
Add-ons
Because the base plans are stripped back, Catch Connect lets you layer on optional packs only when you need them, from extra data to international calling and overseas roaming.
Top up with one-off data packs when your included allowance runs out, so you stay connected without changing plans.
Add calls and texts to a wide list of international destinations, billed as a separate add-on with its own allowance.
Buy roaming credit before you travel and pay as you use it to stay connected overseas, subject to Optus roaming destinations and rates.
Get in touch
As a low-cost, online-first provider, Catch Connect (now OnePass Mobile) is mostly self-service. The quickest channels are online live chat and your account, with a customer care phone line for anything more complex.
| Channel | Contact | Notes |

Catch Connect reviews lean positive on value and mixed on service. Customers loved how cheap and simple the prepaid plans were, especially the long-expiry "set and forget" options, and found ordering and activation easy. The recurring gripes were reaching support through an online-first channel and reception in some areas. If you want a cheap, no-fuss prepaid SIM on the Optus network, it delivered; if you need 5G or hands-on phone support, weigh it up.
"Great value for a light user. I recharge once a year and never think about it again." — a typical long-expiry customer.
Joining
Getting started is quick and fully online, whether you are activating a new prepaid SIM or bringing your existing number across.
Choose a plan online and activate your SIM through your account using the SIM serial number and a valid Australian debit or credit card. Activation usually takes about 15 minutes but can occasionally take up to 48 hours. To keep your number, select "transfer existing number" and leave your old SIM in until the port completes.
After activation your service is set up for auto-recharge by default, which you can turn off or manage any time in the app or online account. To recharge manually, log in and pay with a saved card. To cancel, simply turn off auto-recharge to stop future charges and leave yourself free to port out.
Common questions
On 1 May 2025, Catch Connect rebranded to OnePass Mobile, following the closure of the Catch.com.au online store. The change was designed to be seamless: it is the same Optus network, the same style of value prepaid plans and the same customer care number. Existing customers kept their service and number, and new customers can still sign up for the same plans under the OnePass Mobile brand.
Catch Connect is an MVNO on the Optus 4G network, which reaches around 97% of the Australian population. It runs as a prepaid reseller, so coverage and speeds are broadly similar to a prepaid Optus service. Catch Connect plans are 4G only and do not include 5G, so always check Optus coverage for your exact address before signing up.
Catch Connect kept things simple: standard short-expiry prepaid (around 28 days), long-expiry prepaid (up to 365 days), and data-only mobile broadband. All voice plans included unlimited standard national calls and texts, with optional add-ons for extra data, international calling and roaming. Every plan was prepaid with no lock-in contract.
Catch Connect was an online-only, no-frills MVNO. It leased capacity on the Optus network instead of running its own, sold direct through the website with low overheads, and focused on prepaid rather than postpaid billing. That kept prices low, especially on the long-expiry plans, in exchange for a lean, self-service experience rather than a premium support channel.
The fastest options are online live chat and your online account, where you can log support requests. The customer care phone line is 1300 222 825, which carried over to OnePass Mobile. Complaints can be lodged through the online complaint form, with a response usually targeted within 2 business days.
Activate your SIM online through your account using the SIM serial number and a valid Australian credit or debit card. Once active, your service is set up for auto-recharge, which you can turn off or manage at any time through the app or online account. To recharge manually, log in and recharge with a saved card. To keep your existing number, choose to transfer it during sign-up and leave your old SIM in until the port completes.
For value-focused, light-to-moderate users, the prepaid plans were among the cheapest in Australia, and the long-expiry options made a genuine "set and forget" choice. The trade-offs were 4G-only coverage (no 5G) and online-first support rather than a large call centre. If price and a simple prepaid SIM matter most, it was a strong pick; if you need 5G or hands-on support, a different provider may suit better.
Reviews were mixed but lean positive on value. Customers consistently praised it as a budget-friendly provider that was easy to order and set up. The common complaints were about reaching support (online-first, limited phone options) and reception in some areas, which is a reminder to confirm Optus coverage at your address first.
Catch Connect is now OnePass Mobile, but it is far from the only cheap prepaid SIM on the Optus network. Compare long-expiry, SIM-only and data plans across all the major networks and best-value resellers to find the one that matches how you actually use your phone.
