Kogan Energy is the energy arm of the Australian online retailer Kogan.com, run as a joint venture with Powershop. Kogan handles the brand and sign-up, while Powershop supplies the energy and the billing systems. It launched in 2019 and is aimed at digitally confident, budget-minded households.
Kogan supplies electricity in NSW, Victoria, Queensland and South Australia, and gas in Victoria (it only sells gas where Powershop does). It does not operate in the ACT, Western Australia or Tasmania.
Two plans, both variable-rate with no lock-in contract and no exit fees: Kogan Energy with Free Kogan First (bundles a 12-month Kogan First membership) and Kogan Energy Basic (a standing offer at the reference price).
