Alinta Energy is a gentailer Australian energy company, owned by Chow Tai Fook Enterprises. Alinta Energy was first founded in 2011 as Alinta, though parts of the company date back to the 1950s.

Alinta Energy got its start as the State Energy Commission of Western Australia until 1995 when it was disaggregated into its separate gas and electricity parts, leading to the creation of AlintaGas. It then became Alinta Limited before settling for its current name, Alinta Energy.

In 2017, Alinta Energy was acquired by Chow Tai Fook Enterprises and remains so today.

How to Subscribe to or Move with Alinta Energy in Western Australia

To subscribe to Alinta Energy in Western Australia, you will need to submit an application online which will need to include your name, address, the name of anyone else you want on the energy bill, as well as rental agreement if you lease.

Customers, either new or existing, of Alinta Energy, can move with Alinta by filling out a moving house form. With one business day's notice, you can have natural gas to your new property the day you move in. Existing customers can disconnect their current property from Alinta Natural Gas with this disconnection form.

Alinta Energy offers gas and electricity plans for customers in Queensland, New South Wales, South Australia, and Victoria. Customers in Queensland only have access to electricity plans through Alinta, and energy savings depend on your location.

Alinta Energy has two plans available, for either gas or electricity. Exact savings with Alinta Energy depend on where you live, but electricity savings could be up to 17% less than the reference price. With Alinta Energy gas, you get simple, low, discounted rates. 

 Alinta Energy’s No-Fuss energy plan (available in South Australia) and Home Deal Energy (available in Queensland, NSW, and Victoria) for gas or electricity offers greater savings, flexible billing, and payment, as well as no lock-in contracts or exit fees.

 For sports fans, Alinta Energy offers the Sports Pack Energy Plan with Kayo, which gives customers up to 12 months of Kayo Basic, as well as streaming of 50 sports on up to two devices.

To subscribe to Alinta Energy you will need to submit an application online, choose your state and follow the instructions. Your application will need to include your name, address, identification, the name of anyone else you want on the energy bill, as well as rental agreement if you lease.

Looking to Change?Under Australian law, energy customers are entitled to a 10-business-day cooling off period after subscribing to a new energy service. During this time customers can cancel their energy plan for any reason, without penalty. After the 10-day period, customers who wish to cancel might incur an exit fee.
