While the nbn speed is not the fastest Telstra offers, its enough to stream your favorite shows and movies with the bundled Tesltra TV plan with a speed of 50mbps for $104. If you want faster internet speeds with Telstra TV, you have to sign up separately, which will significantly raise the cost.

How Do Telstra Plans Work?

If you are looking for a straightforward Telstra plan just to get your broadband connection set up, Telstra has you covered.

1. NBN25' Monthly allowance of 500GB/month for $80. You can expect evening speeds of 25.00 Mbps.
2. NBN50. Unlimited data allowance a month for $95.00. You can expect evening speeds of 50.00 Mbps.
3. NBN100. Unlimited data allowance a month for $110.00. You can expect evening speeds of 100.00 Mbps.

Telstra NBN plans are only by a month-to-month basis, and include features such as:

1. 3 months of free access to Foxtel Now.
2. 20,000 Telstra Plus points to use for discounts.
3. A Telstra Smart Modem for backup service.
4. Access to Telstra Air's WiFi network across the country.

Usually there is a $99 connection fee for Telstra NBN plans, but if you make your purchase online it will be waived.

What Happens If I Exceed My Data Allowance? If you exceed the data allowance on your Telstra plan, your broadband speeds will be lowered to 256Kbps. It will stay at this speed until the next period of your plan starts, so make sure to check how much data you use.

Telstra Home Phone Plans

All Telstra internet plans have Telstra home phone plans bundled inside.

The Telstra ‘Ultimate Voice’ plan by itself is already a great value phone plan. The Telstra standalone ‘Ultimate Voice’ plan includes a fixed home phone service with unlimited local calls, national, Australian mobile calls.

The Telstra 'Ultimate Voice' plan gives you access to a great home phone service and a great value NBN plan all in on.

Alternatively, you can purchase your Telstra TV package outright for $216. Keep in mind, if you decide to purchase your Telstra TV box outright, you will not get 20,000 Telstra Plus points.

Telstra Smart Modem

Every Telstra NBN plan will come with 4G back-up included.

The Telstra Smart Modem connects to Telstra’s mobile networks with its backup 4G system. 4G backup means that if you ever lose internet service due to a Telstra outage, the Telstra Smart modem will use Telstra's 4G network as a back-up and keep you online until the outage is fixed.

You can also set up the Smart Modem to send you SMS or email notifications when it switches over to the back-up network, so you can stay informed of what's happening.

The $216 modem is yours to keep as long as you stay with your Telstra contract for 24 months, otherwise you will need to return the modem or pay for it.

Telstra Air

Telstra Air is a Wi-Fi network where you can connect to one of the 1 million Wi-Fi hotspots throughout Australia and the 19 million hotspots through partners overseas.
