OVO is a small MVNO with a family-friendly and sports-centred philosophy. For more information about the various SIM cards they offer, as well as information about their exclusive sports partnerships, continue reading below, or discover all of Australia's mobile and broadband providers with Selectra.
Overview of OVO
OVO differentiates itself from the rest of the MVNOs in Australia as being a sports-centred network operator. Through its many partnerships and sponsorships with various leagues, teams, and competitions, OVO is able to provide sports fans with exclusive access to multiple sports.
OVO also provides additional services to parents and families. With their Family Zone features, parents can keep an eye on their kid’s internet usage and restrict access to content and websites. While not the biggest or most expansive mobile service provider, OVO found its niche with sports fans and parents alike while offering simple SIM cards without lock-in contracts.
OVO Network Coverage
OVO is an MVNO powered by the Optus Network which covers 98.5% of the Australian population. Optus’s coverage extends across the majority of urban centres in Australia, with some additional regional coverage and pockets of network service in the Northern Territory.

OVO automatically charges your account every month for your prepaid service. To opt-out of this, you will need to log into your OVO Dashboard account. When OVO automatically debits your account, they will let you know that your credit card has been used and that the payment has gone through.
If your payment does not go through, OVO will let you know in order to sort it out as quickly as possible.
Reviews of OVO
OVO customer reviews are very mixed. Within the last few months especially, customers cite that the quality of OVO has gone down by removing the ability to recharge your mobile plan at any point in lieu of data top-ups, and by cutting data allowances in half without adjusting the price. However, customers cite it easy to switch to OVO from another provider and good speeds for streaming with minimal dropouts.
