What we like about SpinTel
SpinTel is really good at offering high value at a low price. SpinTel has a plethora of plans to choose from and they continually rank among the cheapest in Australia. SpinTel runs on the Optus network which is widely available across Australia and has good stability and high speeds even during peak hours.
We also like that, unlike some other telecom providers, SpinTel offers both internet and phone services. This is great if you want to save the headache of having to deal with multiple companies. You can get a home phone line, internet connection, and mobile phone plan all through SpinTel.
Another very impressive point to note about SpinTel is that they are consistently awarded prizes for being an amazing internet and phone provider. They have won so many awards that they have an entire page on their website dedicated to the list of awards they have won since 2007.
Did we mention that they also have great offers? For all of these reasons, we think SpinTel is a provider that deserves more airtime!
Enough about what we think. Let’s take a look at how real customers rate SpinTel.
What Do Customers Think about SpinTel?
Apart from all the awards they have won, SpinTel reviews left by real customers on the internet are also quite high.
On ProductReview, SpinTel customers gave the company 4.1 out of 5 stars!
For internet providers, that is quite a high score, and when you look at the section on ProductReview where providers are ranked, SpinTel is among the top.
The majority of positive SpinTel reviews that we read praise how quick and easy it is to talk to customer support and how well the agents were able to resolve the customer’s problem.
Other SpinTel reviews also frequently mention how reliable the service is and how nice it is to not have to constantly worry about their internet and mobile service. At the end of the day, this is a huge factor considering how connected our lives are to both our phones and the internet.
One positive SpinTel review from a mobile customer named JTan said the following:
I lost my mobile and so needed advise what to do. After a long wait on the phone, I decided to use SpinTel Chat. Once I get the Chat response, the communication just flows. I'm very happy to get the lost SIM deactivated and a new replacement SIM organised. Also very relief that all my other concerns were addressed. Keep up the fantastic service. Xyra you are a great help. - JTan, Perth
For us, the most interesting part about this review is that the reviewer mentions that all of their concerns were addressed and they left the interaction with all of their doubts resolved. This is a point echoed by many other customers and one not to be overlooked or undervalued.
Another positive SpinTel review from an NBN customer named BosB. mentioned this:
Representative KC was polite and professional and she understood the problem without asking irrelevant questions or questions that have been answered before. I have been with SpinTel for a while not only because they provide value for money, but they also provide a good quality of service and you get to speak to a human. - BosB.
For the negative SpinTel reviews that we saw, most customers focused on how long it took them to get set up with their service. We also saw others mention that when they called in, they had trouble understanding the foreign customer support team. While the latter will depend on each individual person and situation, the mention of the late connections was something we saw that appeared to be a pattern.
Here is a negative SpinTel review left by Alex C.:
Put an order through 3 weeks ago and still nothing activated. First they activated the wrong address without even checking who the legal owner was. Had a new NBN box ordered in the end, which still hasn’t been delivered. Now I’ve asked to cancel the order, shock, still hasn’t been cancelled and Superloop can’t activate until SpinTel have cancelled the order. And to top it off SpinTel have taken money from my account even though I haven’t had a service in 3 weeks. Phone operators are cheeky and disrespectful also. Absolute joke. - Alex C.
Ironically, what customers seem to be praising SpinTel for in the positive reviews, customers also criticise in some of the negative reviews.
It just goes to show that doing your own research is of the utmost importance when searching for a new provider. Luckily, Selectra is here to you with that.
So who is SpinTel right for? Here is our debrief.
Is SpinTel Right for You?
If you are a person who wants all the bells and whistles, the SpinTel may not be for you. SpinTel plans are paired back and straight to the point.
However, if you are in the market for a reliable, award-winning, and cheap internet plan then you should definitely consider SpinTel.
SpinTel isn’t always the cheapest, so if money is an issue, take a look around at other providers like Tangerine, Kogan, and Aussie Broadband.
If you go with another company, you may save on price, but you may also have to sacrifice customer service and reliability, which SpinTel does very well.
Lastly, if you are looking for a provider that can bundle all services into one package, then SpinTel should definitely be on your list as one of the cheaper options you will find.
We always recommend comparing internet and comparing mobile providers to see what offers are available, as prices change constantly.
