Overview of iPrimus
iPrimus is a wholely-owned subsidiary of Vocus Communications which also owns other big-name telecom brands such as Dodo & Flip telecom.
Thanks to its 25-year-long track record of connection to Australian homes, iPrimus was and still is one of the largest internet providers in Australia.
iPrimus offers a range of services that you can customise and bundle to create the best plan for you.
iPrimus offers month-to-month plans for the following services:
iPrimus has a build-your-own NBN plan model that allows you to choose exactly what you want, and all of iPrimus NBN plans are considered “high-speed” as they’ve done away with all slower NBN 12 & NBN 25 plans.
However, all iPrimus NBN plans come with unlimited data. In 2022, this should be industry standard, but it’s not yet. With iPrimus you'll get unlimited data with no speed reductions after a certain point.
You can choose from the following iPrimus NBN plans:

iPrimus NBN Plan Add-ons
As you walk through the iPrimus purchase process online you will be given options for bundling different services with your NBN plan.
You can add the following options to your iPrimus NBN plan:
Monthly calling inclusions (national or international)
Fetch TV subscription & preferred channel packs
Type & amount of Fetch TV boxes for your home
You will also get a “free” WiFi 6 router modem included with your iPrimus NBN subscription.
The way the free iPrimus modem system works is if you stay for 12 months, iPrimus will cover the cost of the router. (A.K.A. you won’t have to pay for it each month.)
However, if you leave before 12 months, you’ll have to pay $10 for each month left on your plan until the 12 months is up.
This is an odd sort of plan because, in reality, there is no minimum contract with iPrimus, so you should be able to leave without exit fees. However, this is a small loophole that allows them to charge you exit fees via the iPrimus modem charge.
It’s important to note that with iPrimus you cannot supply your own router.

iPrimus Review & Verdict
Here is our take on iPrimus based on what we like, who we think iPrimus is best suited for, and what real iPrimus reviews from customers have to say. Let's have a look.
The main thing that we like about iPrimus is that you can customise your plans however you like.
iPrimus can easily be a “one-stop shop” for moving into a new home. The fact that you can bundle your home phone + NBN + TV+ mobile phone all under one provider is really convenient. It streamlines the billing process immensely, not to mention if you change banks or get your card stolen.
Switching all of your details can be done in one place instead of four.
We also like that iPrimus offer all unlimited NBN plans. It’s such a hassle to have a looming data cap hanging over your head when you just want to live and enjoy surfing the web or watching TV.
Not to mention, nowadays most of us have switched to either a fully remote schedule or a semi-remote working schedule, so having enough internet for work and pleasure is important.
Lastly, we also like how clear and straightforward their plans are. There are just 3 NBN plans to choose from and 3 mobile plans to choose from.
The sign-up process is also incredibly simple and straightforward. We walked through the entire registration process in just 7 minutes including registering for all the add-ons.
However, iPrimus is not for everyone.
Who is iPrimus a good fit for?
iPrimus is a good fit if you want to bundle all of your plans into one.
It’s also a good fit if you can handle not having all the live TV that you could with cable. One thing that is important to note is that iPrimus is not cheap, and that is the price you pay for the convenience of having all plans under one roof.
However, there are other companies like Optus & Telstrathat also allow you to bundle all your plans, so you may want to check them out before you make a decision.
iPrimus is probably not right for you if you are looking for a budget provider or if you are going through a period of unstable income. That’s because we saw many customers mention that they were cut off as soon as they missed a bill payment.
While on that note, let’s take a look at iPrimus reviews from real customers.
iPrimus Reviews from Real Customers
Being straightforward and candid, iPrimus reviews, on the whole, are quite negative.
In fact, we noticed that on ProductReview, iPrimus has more negative reviews than positive reviews.
Almost every negative iPrimus review was written by customers complaining about having their internet service cut off once they missed a bill payment or customers complaining about iPrimus outages at random.
Here is an iPrimus review that we found on ProductReview that gives us pause for thought:
I have woken up once again with no internet and I have no home phone. I get no reception where I live and I'm diabetic so if I need to call for help I can't. This company is so over priced and 89% of the time your internet doesn't work or is slow. I have a teenager in school who needs internet for exams. If you can go with another company do it because you will have nothing but trouble. I know have to wait for 5 days for someone to fix it. Paid so much money to get internet connected then nbn and now I have zero internet for 6 days. - Lou, Queensland
When we read this review it hits home how in this day and age, the lack of internet connection can have profound effects on personal wellbeing and health.
Still, others really like their iPrimus service.
Here is an example of a positive iPrimus review we saw on ProductReview that sums up well what other customers were mentioning as well:
Had NBN for several years now, never had a drop out. The only issue was with email and this was fixed with a change of password on my account. The company is easy to contact by phone and the staff are always pleasant and helpful. Extremely reliable company for NBN and mobile phone. - Lesley, Queensland
While all of these reviews can be a bit confusing due to their controversial nature, we can clearly see a negative trend versus a positive one in terms of customer satisfaction.
As always, we recommend taking these customers’ opinions with a grain of salt and doing your own research before signing up to a new company.
